Entry to the Early Years and Primary Years Departments is by assessment at the school. For Playgroup, this will take the form of an after-school individual session, at which the parent will bring the child to school so the teacher can meet the child and talk with the parent. Chil dren must be at least 2 years old by 1st September of the school year in which they wish to start, and must be out of nappies and completely dry by the time they start.
For all other Early Years and Primary Years classes, a prospective pupil will spend a full school day at school (possibly less for Early Years pupils), during which the teacher will carry out various assessments according to the child’s age and educational background. The teacher will pass on this information to the Head of Department, who will recommend to the Headmaster whether or not a place should be offered. If a place is to be offered, The Headmaster will write a formal offer letter to the parents.
It is helpful if the most recent report from the child’s current school is made available.
For pupils arriving from outside Nigeria, modifications are made to this process, but a place cannot be offered until after a child has visited the school and undertaken the above process.
We will be pleased to supply further information, and the necessary forms, upon application to the School.
