Secondary education of any quality in Abuja is very limited indeed and the advent of a new secondary school will be widely acclaimed, by both the Nigerian and expatriate communities alike. The new Regent Secondary School will be of the same high quality and excellent standards for which The Regent School is well known in Abuja and more widely in Nigeria. The secondary school will offer British curriculum to IGCSE.
Our plan for bringing the secondary school to fruition is as follows:
- In September 2007, and for one year only, to establish Year 7 and, Year 8 and to operate in the additional rooms to be built on the Primary School site.
- Between now and September 2008, to build our own secondary school, on a separate site in Abuja and, in September 2008, to move all secondary school pupils to that site. The Regent Secondary School site is located in Mabushi, which is five minutes drive from the present school site.
- The current Head Master Mr Stephen Robinson will still head both sections of the school for a year, with the KS3 department being coordinated by just recruited British National Mr John Toscano.
For September 2008, a separate Head will be appointed for the Secondary School, to enable each school to be fully and successfully operational in its own right. The schools would work closely together and report to a common Board.
Further information regarding all the above can be obtained from the school office.
